After five years in the fast-paced world of full-service marketing, I have developed the skills to work effectively and efficiently. This has given me growth and confidence in all areas of work, from involvement with team strategy to covering all grounds with clients and potential new businesses.  My experience in advertising has allowed me to participate in all stages of project development, from concept to completion. I now look forward to contributing my knowledge and abilities to many new challenges.

LEO Weekly      Art Director  - July-November 2006
LEO Weekly hired me as a part-time Art Director to develop sales ads, cover designs and help build concepts for future newspapers. In this position tasks ranged from working in Photoshop to working with web programmers to develop different new interactives for consumers.

CurrentMarketing, Inc.      Art Director  - Feb 2002 - May 2006
Initially hired as a Production Artist, I was promoted to Art Director in less than one year. I create and build ideas using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Quark XPress, InDesign, Macromedia Flash and – most important – my own mind. My responsibilities also extend well beyond art direction, as I am comfortable communicating directly with clients and venders. This has helped me to develop strong social skills and to build business relationships with many professionals in the area.

Shutterbug Photo      Designer/Photo Retoucher  - 1999-2001
During this paid internship, I gained additional computer skills and worked under strict deadlines. My tasks ranged from retouching old photographs to designing Christmas cards.

Education
Western Kentucky University - Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Graphic Design - December 2001
While in college, I learned the basic concepts of design and marketing. I was also taught the importance of thinking strategically to create successful advertisements. I completed a variety of fine art classes to obtain this degree, including painting, sculpture, drawing and ceramics. Outside of the classroom, I obtained additional leadership skills by accepting the role of graphics lab key holder. My responsibilities included scheduling computer lab hours and assisting other students with various programs.

Trinity High School - 1995
At Trinity, I completed every available art class. I also participated in many extracurricular activities, such as freshman, junior varsity and varsity soccer. Throughout high school, I worked after school to pay tuition. This taught me to manage my time and my responsibilities.
